The Odisha government on Sunday asked the Crime Branch to probe the leak of the question paper of the written test for the recruitment of constables in Odisha Police, said officials.
The examination, which was scheduled to be held on Sunday morning, was cancelled after reports regarding sale of question papers and answer sheets of the test from several places in the state.
"The examination was cancelled after we received reports on leakage of questions papers in some districts," said Odisha Director General of Police Sanjeev Marik.
Additional Director General of Crime Branch Bijay Kumar Sharma said a team has been constituted to probe the matter.
Amrit Mohan Prasad, chairman of Odisha Police State Council Board said the examination has been cancelled and the Council has started the process to conduct a fresh examination for the recruitment of constables.
Nearly 40,000 candidates had applied for the 1,300-odd posts of constables.
