At an event held on Thursday, Patnaik urged the elected members of the three-tier panchayati raj institutions and officials to work for the development of villages.
He said the representatives should look forward to implement various rural development programmes in an effective manner and work unitedly to achieve rural prosperity.
Stating that women play an important role in the development of the state, he said efforts should be made to empower all women by ensuring their participation in the implementation of all developmental and social welfare programmes.
