An Odisha government official has been suspended after an inmate in a state-run hostel, a student of Class 9, was found pregnant in Malkangiri district.
The girl is in the sixth month of her pregnancy, an official said.
Malkangiri District Collector Prasanth Kumar Reddy has ordered action against the head of the school for concealing the incident. He suspended the hostel superintendent.
The incident came to light on Saturday after the girl's parents filed a complaint with police, who detained a Class 12 student.
