Top officials of real estate developer ABW Infrastructure Limited have been booked for cheating a buyer of Rs.42 lakh, police said on Tuesday.
Arvind Bhardwaj, a resident of Gurgaon's World Spa West in sector 30, lodged an FIR against ABW top officials under sections 406 (breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code, and section 3/32/14 of the Haryana Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Financial Establishment) Act 2014.
The complainant said that he had paid Rs.42 lakh to the builder for a flat in April 2010. The developer had assured to hand over possession of the flat within a year. But that promise did not materialise in over six years, and the money was not refunded.
A case has now been registered at the DLF-2 police station here. Police are investigating the case.
No one was available from the ABW Infrastructure to comment on the matter.
