At least one person was injured in a gun attack on the Israeli embassy in the Turkish capital city on Wednesday, media reported.

Haaretz online quoted the Israel Foreign Ministry as saying that a local security guard shot and injured one of two knife-wielding attackers at the embassy.

According to Turkish broadcaster NTV, the attack occurred as two persons attempted to enter the embassy in Ankara, and one person was "injured and neutralised" in the incident.

CNN Turk reported that the incident was a stabbing attack, and the alleged assailant was shot in the leg.
