A man was killed and five others were injured at a railway crossing here on Tuesday, police said.
The incident took place when about a dozen persons were crossing the closed Kolgaon railway crossing by passing under the drop gates.
As an EMU train from Aligarh reached the spot, those crossing the tracks moved away. But the Kalka Mail from Delhi came on the adjoining track, forcing people to squeeze in the narrow space between the two rail lines.
One of the trains hit a two-wheeler of a man who too was trying to cross the track, hurtling the vehicle and killing one man instantly. Five others suffered critical injuries, with one man losing both his arms.
