Former Italy and Juventus midfielder Mauro Camoranesi on Sunday said only Wales' Gareth Bale has lived up to expectations at the Euro 2016 football tournament.
The Real Madrid winger has been a key man for Wales in the competition. He netted thrice and produced a man-of-the-match performance in their 1-0 victory over Northern Ireland in the last-16 stage on Saturday.
Other stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were only able to shine in patches in the ongoing quadrennial event.
"There are many renowned figures doing very well in their clubs. But the only one that met the expectations and with a team who is not considered at the top level is undoubtedly, Gareth Bale," Camoranesi was quoted as saying by goal.com.
Camoranesi also believes Hungary will be the dark horses of the tournament.
"Spain and England were ranked in second position in their respective groups and everything changed in the draw and now all of the big teams are in the same side of the draw and will be eliminated game by game," said the 2006 World Cup winner.
"My surprise is named Hungary. Hungary is a team that makes simple things, defends well with many people and has an offensive power that enabled them to qualify first in the group."
