New Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise Orlando City announced the signing of former Flamengo centre-back Gustavo Silva Conceicao.
The 28-year-old joined the club for an undisclosed fee from Brazilian second division club Vila Nova, Orlando said on their official website Monday, reports Xinhua.
Nicknamed "Fridge" due to his large frame, Conceicao is the fifth foreigner in City's squad, which also includes his countryman and former FIFA world player of the year Kaka.
"We're very pleased that Gustavo has joined the club," head coach Adrian Heath said.
"He's a tough and willing defender who we believe will be a fantastic complement to our existing core."
The 2015 MLS match schedule will be announced Feb 7 with the regular season set to begin in March.
