Others hired for China letter bomb deliveries: Police

A man suspected of causing multiple explosions in China's Guangxi Zhuang region had hired others to help deliver letter bombs, police said on Thursday.

The explosions in Liucheng county and the surrounding areas at least seven people on Wednesday afternoon, with two others missing and another 51 injured. Police have identified 33-year-old Wei, a Liucheng native, as the main suspect, Xinhua news agency reported.

Liucheng is under the jurisdiction of Liuzhou city.

Liuzhou authorities have tightened supervision over delivery packages, with the local branch of state-owned mail delivery company China Post halting all its mail deliveries until Saturday.

On microblog Sina Weibo, Liuzhou police warned the public not to accept materials delivered by strangers.

On Thursday morning, another explosion hit a civilian's house near the local highway administration bureau in Liucheng.

Casualties are not immediately known, though the explosion caused damage to a six-storey building, police added.
