Over two dozen protestors were injured on Thursday in clashes with the security forces in Pulwama district, where two militants and a civilian were killed during a gunfight earlier in the day, police said.
Intense clashes between stone-pelting protestors and the security forces followed the gunfight in Padgampora village of Pulwama district, in which two militants and a civilian were killed.
As the news about the death of two militants and the civilian spread to neighbouring areas, youths marched to Padgampora village engaging the security forces in heavy stone-pelting, according to police.
Reports said over two dozen protestors were injured, some of them sustaining bullet and pellet injuries when the security forces used force to quell the protests.
Tension continued in the area even though the clashes had stopped.
