Pakistan and Iran signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sunday to foster improved border security management, Radio Pakistan reported.
The MoU was inked during the 21st two-day meeting of Pakistan-Iran Joint Border Commission, held in Gwadar port city on the southwestern coast of Balochistan, in Pakistan.
Joint proposals pertaining to the border situation, security matters, immigration and border trade between the two countries also came under discussion.
The two sides reiterated their firm resolve to check drugs smuggling, intrusion of illegal immigrants and not allow use of their respective soils for terrorism against each other.
Provincial Chief Secretary Aurangzeb Haque led the Pakistani side while Deputy Governor Sistan-Baluchistan province Ali Asghar Mir Shikari headed the Iranian delegation at the meeting.
