Union Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has asked states to give priority to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) persons in allotment of Fair Price Shops (FPS) to generate employment for them.
"I have told Chief Ministers that as licence for FPS are being given by state government, allotment of FPS should be done as per reservation policy," he tweeted on Wednesday.
"If allotment of FPSs are done as per reservation policy, new employment opportunities will be generated for SC/ST members."
