Disney's adventure fantasy "Pete's Dragon" will release in India a day before it was scheduled to hit the screens. It will now make its way to the screens on August 18, which is Raksha Bandhan.
The film was earlier slated to release on August 19, read a statement on Monday.
The change in the release date is done to time it according to the festival of Raksha Bandhan to make the most of the holiday.
"Pete's Dragon" tells the adventures of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliot, who happens to be a dragon.
The film stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Oakes Fegley, Wes Bentley, Karl Urban, Oona Laurence, Isiah Whitlock Jr and Oscar winner Robert Redford.
Directed by David Lowery and written by Lowery and Toby Halbrooks, the film is based on a screenplay by Malcolm Marmorstein and produced by Jim Whitaker with Barrie M. Osborne serving as executive producer.
