Possible gunfire reported in JFK airport

People were being evacuated from New York's JFK International Airport after possible gunfire was reported at a terminal on Sunday night, media reports said.

The New York Police Department told CBS News that multiple calls started coming in around 8.34 p.m. of reports of shots fired at Terminal 8.

There was no confirmation of an actual shooter. All flights have been cancelled, Xinhua news agency reported

A passenger at JFK tweeted: "Panic at JFK. They're closing the gates at security - possible shooter."
