The case of "possible military dimensions" (PMDs) of Iran's nuclear programme will be "definitely" closed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Head of Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) Ali-Akbar Salehi said on Thursday.

With reference to a Wednesday report by the IAEA, Salehi said the country's nuclear programme has been "peaceful" and there has been no diversion to weapons-grade activities, according to IRIB TV.

As for the content of the IAEA report, "the fabricated case (of PMDs), which caused problems for us will be closed forever", he was quoted as saying.

The UN nuclear agency found no credible evidence that can prove Iran carried out nuclear bomb plan after 2009 and delivery system research after 2011, according to the confidential final assessment report from the agency on Wednesday.

IAEA and Tehran signed a road-map in July to clarify Iran's past nuclear unresolved PMD issues in accordance with the historic Iranian nuclear deal.

The report said Iran, in cooperation with IAEA, has implemented all the activities contained in the road-map.

Iran's senior nuclear negotiator, Abbas Araghchi, said on Wednesday that all Iran's nuclear work was conducted for peaceful goals and the UN nuclear arm should close the book on the question of Iran's nuclear past within two weeks to allow the implementation of the nuclear deal to move forward.

Under a historic nuclear deal signed on July 14 by Iran and the P5+1 group -- Britain, China, France, Russia, the US plus Germany -- Tehran should significantly scale back its atomic plan to address Western countries' concerns over the alleged nuclear weapons programme, while the IAEA was asked to monitor the process.

The IAEA board members states are supposed to discuss the report and adopt a resolution on December 15.
