A presidential statement said Meghalaya Governor K.K. Paul will discharge the functions of the governor of Nagaland in addition to his own duties "until regular arrangements" were made.
The president also appointed Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah to take charge of Karnataka and Mizoram Governor Vakkom Purushothaman to discharge the functions of the governor of Tripura.
