President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday extended his greetings to the government and people of the South American country of Uruguay on the eve of their National Day (August 25).
In his message to his Uruguayan counterpart Tabare Vazquez, Mukherjee hoped that the bilateral relations will expand and deepen in the years ahead.
"On behalf of the government and the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to convey to you and to the people of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your national day," the president said.
"I look forward to working with you to reinforce our warm and friendly ties," he added.
