The National Conference (NC) on Monday staged a protest march here in Jammu and Kashmir against the killing of a civilian in Kupwara district and electricity shortage in the valley.
Led by party General Secretary and senior leader, Ali Muhammad Sagar, dozens of NC activists took out the march from Nawa-e-Subha party headquarters to protest the killing of Asif Iqbal.
Iqbal was killed in Thandipora village during an army ambush on Sunday.
The army has said Iqbal was killed in a cross fire between the army and the militants. Police has registered an FIR and the state government has also ordered a magisterial probe.
The NC activists shouted slogans against the government for its alleged failure to protect the lives of civilians.
The protesters also carried lanterns to highlight their anger against the government's inability to provide electricity to the people in the valley during the winter months.
