PSG extend lead to 13 points, Corsica derby postponed in Ligue 1

Ligue 1 defending champions Paris Saint-Germain beat Lorient 2-1 to go 13 points clear at the top of table, while the Corsican football derby between Bastia and Ajaccio was postponed due to strong winds.

The fixture on Mediterranean island was rescheduled for Sunday at the Stade Armand-Cesari where both the hosts Bastia and Ajaccio will vie for a victory to move away from the relegation zone, reports Xinhua.

PSG claimed the away victory on Saturday as Hervin Ongenda and Blaise Matuidi scored in the first half at the Stade Yves Allainmat before Benjamin Moukandjo got an 82-minute goal for Lorient.

Ongenda scored his first Ligue 1 goal on 26 minutes and Matuidi added to the Parisian's effort with a well-taken goal six minutes later to ensure a victory for Les Parisiens.

Moukandjo, the leading scorer in the division, scored his 10th goal of the season late on, but it's too late to prevent Laurent Blanc's side to claim their eighth win in a row and to keep unbeaten this season after 14 rounds.

The capital club, playing for the first time after the deadly terror attacks in Paris, extended their lead on top to 13 points by taking advantage of the second placed Lyon's 3-0 defeat at Nice on Friday.

Monaco climbed to fifth after beating Nantes 1-0 at home, bouncing back from their disappointing defeat against Bordeaux. Mario Pasalic rose up for a Thomas Toure's delivery and net the sole goal just before half-time.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Guingamp climbed into the top half with a 2-0 victory over Toulouse, winless Troyes came from behind to claim a 1-1 draw with Lille, and Montpellier moved away from the relegation zone with a 3-1 victory over Reims.

The Ligue 1 fixtures of the 14th round continue on Sunday when Caen host Angers, Ajaccio play at Bastia, Rennes host Bordeaux and Marseille visit Saint-Etienne.
