Amid reports of an AAP worker being allegedly shot by Shiromani Akali Dal workers, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday accused the Punjab Police of "taking orders" from Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal despite Model Code of Conduct being in place.
"Punjab DGP (Director General of Police Suresh) Arora still taking orders from Sukhbir Badal. Deliberately allowing Badal's 'goondas' free-run," Kejriwal tweeted.
Along with his tweet, Kejriwal also shared a photo of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Youth Coordinator Ruby Brar who sustained a bullet injury in Rampura Phul in Bathinda district of Punjab.
"What is EC doing? What is Punjab police doing," Kejriwal asked.
Kejriwal also alleged that frisking and police checking had reduced in Goa and Punjab to facilitate distribution of money and alcohol just before the polling day.
"No frisking taking place anywhere in Punjab for last two days. Why?"
"Police checking all over Punjab substantially reduced in last two days. Free unobstructed movement of alcohol and money," Kejriwal added.
Kejriwal asked if the Election Commission had reduced frisking in both Goa and Punjab "on purpose".
Campaigning ended in both the states on Thursday as they go to polls to elect their state assemblies on Saturday.
