Rain fell in the plains and snowfall in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday as the met office forecast fair weather from Sunday.
"Moderate rain and snowfall occurred during the night in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will improve from tomorrow onwards," an official of the meteorological department said.
There has been fresh snowfall during the night in Sonamarg, Gulmarg and Pahalgam. Rain lashed most of the Jammu region during the night.
"The minimum temperature was 14.5 in Jammu city today. It was 12.4 in Katra, 7.1 in Batote, 7.0 in Bannihal, 6.6 in Bhaderwah, and 13.6 in Udhampur town," the official said.
"The minimum temperature was 2.8 in Srinagar city today. It was 1.2 in Qazig und town, 0.3 in Pahalgam, and minus 2.2 in Gulmarg.
"Leh town recorded minus 4.5 while Kargil town in Ladakh region recorded minus 2.0 as the night's lowest temperature", he added.
