Ranjan Mathai cleared as Jet Airways' independent director

Jet Airways on Wednesday said the appointment of Ranjan Mathai as the independent director of the company has been cleared by the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA).
"This is to inform that the MoCA has vide its letter dated 21 March 2017 granted security clearance for the appointment of Ranjan Mathai as Director," the airline major said in a BSE filing.
"Accordingly, Mathai's appointment as an Independent Director of the company takes effect from 21 March 2017."
Ranjan Mathai is a former Indian Foreign Secretary and Indian High Commissioner to Britain.
