Actor Raqesh Bapat has stepped in as the male lead in TV show "Bahu Humari Rajni_kant".

Raqesh has replaced Karan V. Grover in the show, which is aired on Life OK.

Talking about his role, Raqesh said in a statement: "It is always a challenge when you start something new. Especially a show like this that people have loved and appreciated ever since it began. I look forward to doing comedy for the first time and I know it's going to be a very exciting journey for me. As actors, we thrive on newness and that's what this show will do for me."

He was finalised for the role after the show's makers considered several actors like Himanshoo Malhotra, Eijaz Khan and Ashish Chowdhary.

Raqesh also said that he will bring in some changes to his character in the show.

"There will be some changes to Shaan as a character. I am very excited to explore what the creatives are working on. Karan is a friend and he was really good I his part and I wish him tremendous success in everything that comes his way," he said.

"Bahu Humari Rajni_kant" -- a light-hearted show -- narrates the story of a genius and a female robot, played by Ridhima Pandit.
