The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) on Saturday announced that the third Indian Grand Prix will be conducted from July 10 to 11, especially for all those events where Indian athletes have a strong chance of achieving the qualification standards for the Rio Olympic Games.
The third Indian GP will offer a last and final opportunity for Indian athletes to achieve the qualifying marks as the official deadline for qualification in athletics for Rio 2016 is July 11.
Till now, 24 Indian athletes have already qualified in individual events for the Rio Olympics which is a record number of qualifiers for Indian athletics in the mega games.
The host venue for the third Indian GP will be announced later next week.
Rio Games will start from August 5.
