Russians topped the list of foreign tourists visiting the state in the 2015-16 tourism season, according to statistics tabled in the Goa assembly on Monday.
According to tourism ministry statistics, 106,754 Russian tourists visited Goa from October 2015 to May 13 this year, considered the official charter tourism season in Goa.
The United Kingdom ranked second with 34,549 tourists, followed by Ukraine.
In all, 1.58 lakh foreign tourists arrived in Goa on 798 charter flights on short term visits to the coastal state from October 2015 to May 13 this year.
Goa is one of the most popular beach tourism destinations in the country, attracting over four million tourists.
