Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Mahesh Sharma on Thursday said the initiative "Sankalp Se Sidhhi", led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will further glorify India's rich culture and heritage.
Sharma was speaking at an event "Sankalp Sandhya", organised by the Ministry of Culture at the Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra Auditorium in Noida.
"This event (Sankalp Sandhya) links Prime Minister's core priorities of 'New India' with contemporary issues -- a movement to improve conditions through such initiatives," the minister added.
The event began with rendering of Bhajans by renowned vocalist Vidya Shah, which was followed by performances by folk artistes of Zonal Cultural Centres.
The minister also mentioned about plans to promote the initiative in different cities, such as Ahmadabad and Bhuj in Gujarat, Bengaluru and Mysore in Karnataka, Varanasi and Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, Shillong in Meghalaya, Aizawl in Mizoram, Agartala in Tripura, Kohima in Nagaland, Dharamshala and Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, Kolkata and Shantiniketan in West Bengal, Chennai in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
