The family of Indian death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh first learnt of his death in a Lahore hospital through a media report, his family said from India Thursday.
Dalbir Kaur, sister of Sarabjit Singh, told Geo TV that the family had not yet been officially informed about his death at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore.
She said she received report of her brother's death on Geo TV.
Sarabjit suffered serious head injuries after being attacked by two prisoners at Lahore's Kot Lakhpat jail April 26. He was on ventilator support since then.
Sarabjit's family, including his two daughters, returned to India Wednesday through the Attari border from Lahore, where they had gone to meet him.
