Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma Wednesday announced special scholarships for science students to boost their scientific temper.
"We have decided to award special scholarship to all students to motivate students to look at science not as a phobia but as a branch of study which will benefit them in many ways particularly in regulating their day to day lives," Sangma said
The chief minister made the announcement at the inaugural session of a two-day international seminar organised by Shillong College in the college premises.
"Basic science also plays a very important role in the formulation of policies of the government."
