Tobruk (Libya), Oct 6 (IANS/AKI) Libyas eastern city of Tobruk has been flooded with sewage in the past few days, sparking fears of a health and environmental disaster, reports said on Thursday.

Human waste has leaked into the water supply network in some parts of the city and closed many streets in other parts, reported the Libyan Observer on its website, citing sources.

The ongoing power outages, which led pumps to stop working, is the cause of the problem, the daily quoted the sources as saying.
