An inmate of a shelter home in West Bengal's Nadia district has been allegedly raped, police said on Saturday.
The incident happened in Krishnanagar and came to light after the victim informed the district magistrate who was on a visit to the home about her ordeal.
"Following an order by the district magistrate, we have registered a complaint of rape and the victim has been sent for medical examination. She has named an employee of the home as the accused. He is absconding," said a police officer.
