Gunshots and loud explosions rocked a forest area in Jammu and Kashmir that was cordoned off following information about a group of militants hiding there, police said on Tuesday.
"Gunshots and loud explosion sound were heard today (Tuesday) in Sumlar forest area of Bandipora district," a police officer told IANS.
"The area had been cordoned off by the army and the special operations group (SOG) earlier following information about a group of militants hiding there," he added.
