A shutdown marred life in a Jammu and Kashmir town on Thursday amid allegations that the driver and a cleaner in a truck found dead in an accident had actually been murdered.

Tension gripped the highway town of Bannihal in Ramban district where the deaths occurred after a road accident on Wednesday.

People in the town alleged that the accident was planned and the two had actually been killed.

The dead driver has been identified as Abdul Gani Dar and the other victim as Mudasir Ahmed Rather of Anantnag district in the Kashmir Valley.
