At least 300 terrorists have managed to entre Jammu and Kashmir since 2012, the government said on Friday.
In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh said between 2012 and September 30, 2015, there have been 92 attempts at infiltration by terrorists. A total of 37 terrorists were killed and 38 "returned".
In 2015, till September end, 16 terrorists managed to infiltrate and one of them was "apprehended alive".
Giving figures on ceasefire violations along parts of the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border (IB), Singh said between January to November 30 this year, there have been 151 incidents of firing.
Along the IB areas controlled by the BSF, there have been 249 ceasefire violations from January to October 31 this year.
