At least six people were killed and five sustained serious injuries in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday when their van rammed into a moving train while attempting to cross an unmanned railway crossing.
The incident occurred early Tuesday near Rahjania village in Lakhimpur Kheri district when 11 people were returning from a wedding, police said.
Six of them died on the spot while five others, including a child, who suffered serious injuries, are undergoing treatment.
Four of the victims have been identified as Santosh, Prakash, Vipin and Ram Swaroop while two others have not been identified as yet, an official told IANS.
