Norway international Per Skjelbred extended his contract with Hertha Berlin, the Bundesliga football club confirmed on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old offensive midfielder extended his current contract, stipulated till June 2017, for two more years to stay until June 2019 with the "Herthaner", reports Xinhua.
Skjelbred joined Hertha Berlin in 2013 making an immediate impact to become a key player in the midfield. He made overall 120 competitive outings to provide 16 assists and two goals.
Hertha's midfielder is since 2007 part of Norway's national team, where he became the team captain in June 2013. In his 37 international appearances he scored one goal.
Hertha Berlin kick off their Bundesliga season 2016-2017 against newly promoted Freiburg on August 28.
