A 30-year-old man who murdered his mother has been arrested along with his 25-year-old accomplice friend, police said Thursday.
Satish Kumar of Raisina village and the only son of Murti Devi killed her. His friend was identified as Chattar Singh.
Murti Devi's body was found at the foothills of Aravali range here a few days ago. She worked as a helper at a private school near her village. She was murdered Dec 7 while returning home.
"The accused thought her body will be eaten up by wild animals and there will be no proof of the crime," a police officer told IANS.
"To hide the identity of the body and to attract wild animals to it, he cut her neck and face," the officer said.
The body was identified from her footwear and clothes.
The accused wanted to sell his ancestral house to return the money he had borrowed from Chattar Singh.
