To lure customers in the festive season, consumer durables major Sony India Thursday launched its flagship smartphones Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact priced at Rs.51,990 and Rs.44,990.
"We are very encouraged with the response to Sony Xperia smartphones in India, and are targeting 40 percent contribution from Xperia sales to our sales turnover of FY14," said Kenichiro Hibi, managing director, Sony India.
"We are expanding our distribution to 10,000 retail touch-points including 250 exclusive Xperia stores in FY14."
The smartphones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.5 GHz quad-core CPU, supported by 3 GB RAM and 4G LTE modem for fast net browsing and a 20.7 MP camera.
The company added that both the models have highest levels of waterproofing in compliance and up to two days of battery life.
