A high school student in north China's Shanxi province was sentenced to life for killing a nine-year-old girl, a court said Saturday.
The trial was not open to public as the defendant was juvenile and thus protected by a privacy shield, reported Xinhua.
According to a court statement, the defendant, surnamed Lyu, kidnapped the victim in December 2012, molested and killed her.
Lyu surrendered after 10 days.
The Intermediate People's Court in the city of Xinzhou said the crimes committed were so hideous that no mitigation was offered.
