China's Olympic champion Sun Yang made the men's 800m freestyle final with a sixth place finish in the heats at the World Aquatics Championships here on Tuesday.
Sun timed seven minutes and 47.84 seconds in the heats led by Connor Jaeger of the United States, who finished in 7:47.77, reports Xinhua.
The world record of the 800m freestyle is held by China's Zhang Lin who in Rome Worlds 2009 clocked 7:32.12. Sun, winner of the 400m freestyle here on Sunday, will take part in the 200m free final later on Tuesday.
