Agra celebrated Independence Day on Saturday in pleasant weather, with Commissioner Pradip Bhatnagar unfurling the Indian flag.

District Magistrate Pankaj Kumar headed the celebrations at the collectorate. The tricolour flew high over all government offices. Schools organised colourful costume dramas and dances.

Divisional Railway Manager Prabhash Kumar addressed railway employees and opened an exhibition of models by students.

On the banks of the Yamuna, activists of the River Connect Campaign held a gathering of poets highlighting the need to make the river pollution free.
