Take basic look a notch above with statement jewellery

The daily wear outfits are generally nothing really spectacular. So spruce up your basics by adding elegant, feminine and sparkling statement jewellery, suggest experts.

"To break an all-white look, add a large black Tahitian pearl or a sculptural necklace. Be original, don't be afraid to innovate. This will keep your look simple yet edgy and individualistic for those spontaneous brunches with your girlfriends," jewellery designer Pallavi Foley told IANS.

For a fresh vibe, wear a long necklace over a button down shirt.

Designer and milliner Delna Poonawalla said: "The best way to accessorise a buttoned down shirt is by adding a big diamond or coloured stone heart pendant necklace."

Simple sparkling geometric earrings or a basic geometric choker can really brighten up your everyday work look.

"Those who love to keep it simple and chic, wear a pair of big pearl drop earrings with a sheer top or shirt to instantly add an element of lustre," said Poonawalla.

Wear a pair of studs or a choker with your favourite crisp white shirt to add an element of surprise.

"When you wear a statement ring, all eyes will be on your hands, so don't forget to pay attention to your nails and wrists. Be sure to have a fresh coat of polish on neatly trimmed nails... my favourite being a French manicure, always classy and sensual," said Foley.
