Thambidurai as LS deputy speaker: Jayalalithaa thanks Modi

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa Wednesday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his support to AIADMK's M. Thambidurai's election as deputy speaker of the Lok Sabha.

Jayalalithaa spoke to Modi over phone Wednesday and thanked him for his support in ensuring the unanimous election of Thambidurai as the deputy speaker of the 16th Lok Sabha, said a statement issued by the state government here.

According to the statement, Jayalalithaa also sent a letter to Modi in this regard.
