A total of 105 trafficked Myanmar migrant workers have been repatriated to homeland from Indonesia, an official report said on Monday.

The returnees, sent back from the Ambon Island of Indonesia, are being temporarily accommodated at a monastery in Yangon after their return on Sunday, according to the Central Body for Suppression of Trafficking in Persons, Xinhua reported.

They will be sent back home after being questioned by authorities on how they were trafficked to Indonesia, the national anti-human trafficking agency said.

According to authorities, Myanmar police rescued 219 victims including two children who were trafficked abroad in August.

Among them are 206 men who were sold into forced labor and 11 women who were sold into forced marriage and prostitution.

Official figures also show that a total of 1,205 human trafficking cases were recorded nationwide from 2006 to August this year, in which the police rescued 2,394 victims and arrested 2,196 traffickers.

Destinations of Myanmar's illegal migrants are usually moved to Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia by boat, officials said.
