Armed men Tuesday evening looted cash and valuables at gunpoint and assaulted dozens of passengers of the Jan Shatabdi Express in Bihar's Gaya district, police said.
About two dozen men barged into two air-conditioned coaches of the train at Koderma in Jharkhand.
When the train arrived near Paharpur railway station in Gaya, they looted the passengers and threatened to shoot if they tried to resist.
The robbers then pulled the chain and got off.
Angry passengers later staged a protest at the Gaya railway station, shouting slogans against the inadequate security provided in trains.
