Former FIFA vice president Jack Warner will have to wait until January 22 to learn whether the High Court of Trinidad and Tobago will hear his appeal against extradition to the United States.
Warner is wanted by the US authorities on charges related to corruption at the world football's governing body.
High Court Justice James Aboud said on Saturday that he will give his ruling on whether or not the former FIFA vice president can challenge his extradition in the courts in January, reports Efe.
Warner is seeking leave to have the high court review Trinidad's extradition treaty with the US, as well as the Authority to Proceed signed by Attorney General Faris Al Rawi in September, which allowed the start of extradition proceedings in the lower court.
Justice Aboud, after hearing from attorneys for Warner and the attorney general, said he would issue his decision on January 22.
Warner, 72, is one of 14 former and present FIFA officials indicted in the US in connection with a massive corruption probe.
The flamboyant Trinidadian businessman and politician was a FIFA president from 1997-2011.
