Three suicide explosions carried out by Islamist group Boko Haram killed at least 30, injured more than 80 on Saturday on an island in Lake Chad, a security source told Xinhua.
"Three suicide bombers blew themselves up in three different places on Loulou Fou, an island in Lake Chad," the source said in the capital N'Djamena on condition of anonymity.
Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno announced on November 9th a state of emergency in the frontier region with Cameroon, Niger and Nigeria, which is the entry and stronghold of Boko Haram extremists.
In recent months, the Lake Chad region has been under regular terrorist attacks waged by Boko Haram.
Chadian lawmakers have adopted a law to extend the state of emergency for a period of four months on November 18th.
