The Uttar Pradesh government late Thursday transferred one Indian Administrative Service (IAS), over 100 provincial civil service (PCS) and 24 Indian Police Service (IPS) officials, a government spokesman said.
The transferred officials include four deputy inspector generals of police (DIG) and seven district police chiefs.
The districts which have got new police chiefs include Mathura, Unnao, Balrampur, Jaunpur, Pilibhit, Sant Kabeernagar and Mahoba. Officials said the reshuffle was long over due and had been effected owing to failing law and order in many places of the state.
Rizvan Ahmad has been posted as the new director general (railways) while Satyendra Veer Singh has been made the DIG (Faizabad), Mohit Agarwal is the new DIG Devipatan and Vijay Singh Meena is the new DIG of Agra.
