Two members of a gang involved in printing fake currency were arrested on Monday in Bihar's Patna district along with counterfeit notes with a face value of Rs.2 lakh and a printing machine, police said.
Patna senior superintendent of police Jitendra Rana said that accused Shalendra Kumar and Sudarshan Mishra were arrested after a tip-off about their activities pertaining to distribution of fake currency notes.
Rana said the accused would be interrogated for information about others involved in the racket.
Till a few years ago, counterfeit notes brought from Bangladesh were smuggled to Nepal via West Bengal and Bihar before these were pumped back into the country's economy.
