Two Indian men were arrested here on Friday for possessing materials used in preparing improvised explosive devices (IED).
The police detained the men from a bus en route to Kathmandu from Kakarbhitta during a security check, the Kathmandu Post reported.
All the IED paraphernalia and raw materials were handed over to the Army, said a police official. Authorities declined to reveal the names of the suspects.
Ahead of the second phase of parliamentary and provincial elections on December 7, attacks on candidates and their rallies have gone up in the country.
Four people were injured in a bomb blast at an election rally of the ruling Nepali Congress on Thursday in Itahari city.
On Wednesday, a police recruit injured in an IED blast died in Dang district while a National Congress candidate was among seven people who were seriously hurt in a blast in Udaypur.
