Four people were killed on Monday when a van they were travelling in plunged into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh, but the CISF managed to rescue nine others, an official said.
The accident occurred around 11.30 a.m. near Kangoo village in Hamirpur district, about three kilometres from where the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) unit was stationed.
CISF personnel who rushed to the scene rescued nine passengers, including seven who were said to be critically injured, the official said. The gorge was 250 feet deep. The four bodies were also retrieved.
